About
Sander Steins was born in April 1973 in Nijmegen, the oldest city of The Netherlands. When he was only a child it was already a challenge for him to fill create his own world on a blank piece of paper. Worlds in which not only his fantasies were depicted, but also showed a strong analytical view that surfaced in collages of self-made cities and countries.
These days Sander uses not only a pencil but also his photography, paintings, drawings and photo manipulations to create new visual worlds. He is mostly inspired by the rich contrasts of modern society. As an artist he is interested in crossing borders within the painting and manipulating areas, while as a photographer he is interested in varied subjects like portraits, fashion, industrial landscapes, fine art and nudes. Sander also specializes in post production, retouching editorial work and creating illustrations for varied clients.
